Probably no other event in history has spawned more films than the Second World War. The war provided good guys and bad guys and a myriad of scenarios in which to cast them. In fact, the first films were little more than pure propaganda. Eventually, these films began to give way to more realistic movies that portrayed war for what it was, death and destruction.
